Decided it was time to give the camera gear a little upgrade. I love my Nikon D90, but the video capabilities just didn’t cut it. So after a bit of research and deliberating I took the leap and went for a Canon. I wont go into all the reasons why, but it made sense for me to make the switch.

I had to decide to get either the Canon 5D MKII or the 7D. I was tempted by the full frame on the MKII but the 7D had more features that would make it a better camera all round for me. Some being its 8fps shutter, 60fps video, handy built in flash, better button layout etc. In an ideal world I would like to get the 5D MKIII but I’m not prepared to drop 3K on a camera just yet, maybe once the price comes down it can be my next upgrade.
With the change of body I’m unable to use my Nikon lenses, obviously. So I decided to splash out and get a sigma 30mm f/1.4 and a new 8mm fisheye.
I’ve been playing around with it the past couple of weeks, and I can safely say I’m very impressed. Video on it is beautiful… Keep a look out for examples coming.
